Huntington Bicycle Club Covid-19 Ride Guidelines

DO NOT show up to the lot for any ride if any of the following apply to you:

1) You have any of the following symptoms:     

Fever      Shortness of breath     Headache      Chills       Loss of smell or taste       Sore throat

            Cough        Diarrhea       Myalgia (generalized aches and pains)

2) You have tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 2 weeks and have any persistent symptoms

3) You have had any high-risk exposure*, within the last 14 days, to anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19, regardless of whether you have had a PCR test.

4) You have had any high-risk exposure, within the last 14 days, to anyone who is a person of interest for COVID-19, regardless of whether you have had a PCR test.

5) You have traveled, within the last 14 days, to any of the Restricted States listed on the link below, regardless of whether you have had a PCR test:

  • If you show up at the lot with any of the above items, you will put both your club membership, as well as the future of any club rides, in severe jeopardy.
  • You must wear a mask at the start while signing up for your ride.

 

Covid-19 Ride Restrictions

  • Rides are limited to club members only
  • All riders must have masks and wear them when meeting at the lot. Riders not wearing a face mask at the ride start will not be included in any group ride. Masks may be removed once the ride is in progress and proper distancing is being maintained
  • Proper social distancing of at least 6 feet should always be maintained at the start and during the ride, including rest stops, red lights, stop signs, “mechanical” stops, etc. Where this is not possible, face coverings (masks, Buffs, neck gaiters, etc.) should be worn and “up".
  • No more than 10 people in a group ride; If more than 10 show up for the same ride, two or more separate rides should go out.
  • Cyclists riding single file should ride at least 2 bike lengths (12 feet) apart, whenever possible. Close-up pace lining is not safe and disallowed. Side-by-side riding should maintain a minimum of 4 feet of separation. You should not ride side-by-side on a busy road.  
  • Riders must follow local rules posted at bathroom and rest stops.
  • Riders should consider ride distances in terms of limited availability of rest rooms and food stops.
  • Riders are expected to adhere to all Ride Guidelines and Restrictions. .
